Dr. Fred White's Background & Expertise

Dr. Fred A. White is an Endocrinologist and Diabetologist practicing in the sub-specialty of Endocrinology and Metabolism. Dr. White received his medical degree from the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, where he completed his residency in Internal Medicine. He completed his formal framing with a fellowship in Endocrinology at the Joslin Diabetes Clinic, an affiliate of Harvard Medical School in Boston, before moving to Abilene to establish his practice in 1976. Dr. White is board-certified in internal medicine, endocrinology, and metabolism. He is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians (FACP) and a Fellow of the American College of Endocrinology (FACE).

Endocrinology Associates focuses on diseases of the endocrine system, including the pituitary, hypothalamus, thyroid, parathyroid, pancreas, adrenal, and gonadal glands. Dr. White and his associates provide treatment for a number of disorders, including:

  • Cholesterol and triglyceride disorders

  • Bone disease (osteoporosis)

  • Disorders of calcium metabolism

  • Kidney stone formation

  • Other endocrine and metabolic-related issues

Dr. White relies on nurse practitioners and physician assistants to help manage his practice. He has personally trained each of these medical team members and works closely with them to supervise your care. You can be confident in their level of competence. Patients also have access to a staff dietitian.

Office Hours

Appointments may be scheduled during office hours, which are Monday through Thursday from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM (Closed Friday). The office is closed daily from 12:15 PM to 12:45 PM.
